What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help websites work, remember your choices, and show the site owner how the site is used. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in comparable ways; references to cookies in this policy include them.

How we use cookies

KSIB uses cookies on ksib.com.au to keep the site working and secure, to remember your cookie choice, and, unless you switch analytics off, to understand how visitors find and use the site. How we handle personal information generally is set out in our privacy policy.

The cookies we use

Strictly necessary: cookies that keep the site working and secure, remember your cookie choice, and protect our forms from automated abuse. They cannot be switched off. Some of these are set by our website platform and security provider rather than by us. Your cookie choice is stored in a cookie for 12 months so we do not ask again.

Performance and analytics: cookies that help us understand how visitors find and use the site so we can improve it. They are on by default. Our own analytics sets:

  • ksib_cid: a random visitor identifier, kept for up to two years.

  • ksib_sid: a session identifier that expires after 30 minutes of inactivity.

  • ksib_journey: the campaign sources of your visits, kept for up to two years, so a later enquiry can be linked to how you first found us.


Google Analytics sets its own cookies, with names beginning `_ga`, kept for up to two years, to measure visits. Google may combine this with information from your Google account and use it for its own purposes; see how Google uses information from sites that use its services at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Our own analytics runs by default so we can see how visitors find and use the site. You can switch it off at any time using Decline all or Manage cookies in the cookie banner, or the Cookie Preferences link in the footer; if you do, its cookies are removed. Google Analytics follows the same choice.


Marketing: we do not currently use marketing cookies. If that changes we will ask for your choice again.

Managing your cookie preferences

  • Cookie Preferences: use the Cookie Preferences link in the footer of any page to change your choice at any time.

  • Browser settings: most browsers let you view, delete or block cookies in their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working.

We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
